About this place Deena and Ivan are back! Wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread and freshly roasted, single-origin coffee. We usually serve homemade granola, homemade kefir, and fresh fruit for breakfast. We enjoy eating healthy, sharing, and spoiling our guests. We were top-rated hosts in the early days of AirBnB before taking a hiatus to travel the world. We're now in stunning Toronto with our unique, personal style of hosting. Come learn why so many of our past guests are still our friends! The space Your room The "Penthouse" room is the entire third floor of our home, with a king-sized bed, a large workstation, television, seating area, bar fridge, walk-in closet, and your private bathroom with a tub. The entire house has high-speed Internet. Our House NO CLEANING FEE. You automatically get a DISCOUNT FOR 2 or more nights. Our home is located on a peaceful, secure, and welcoming residential street lined with trees. From our downtown location, you can easily reach Toronto's many diverse cultural districts and attractions. It's a 3-minute walk to public transportation. We live here and we love to share. Breakfast is always included, and we're not talking about DIY corn flakes and milk. We have our usual homemade bread, granola, and kefir mentioned above, fresh fruit, and sometimes we offer some other delicious surprises. In addition to our awesome coffee and selection of fine teas, we often have cold brew in the fridge if you'd prefer that. Our house is necessarily smoke free and pet free. Deena is highly allergic to these things, as well as mold. Smoke or animal fur may cause Deena health issues including severe pneumonia. Please respect our no smoking and our no pet rules. Unfortunately, this includes service animals too. Please note, there is a train that runs about 100 yards behind our house. It doesn't sound its horn, but there may be a dull rumble a few times a day and night. If you are very sensitive to noise, keep this in mind. With windows closed, the sound is minimal, but depending on how sensitive you are, you may wish to look elsewhere, or bring earplugs. We have central heating and cooling, so there's no need to open windows except during the swing seasons when the fresh air is comfortable. NEARBY Just behind our house is a park which is part of a green space that extends about a half mile. Street artists have decorated the garage doors in a butterfly theme, earning this area the nickname Butterfly Alley. It's also a short walk to Wychwood Barns Park which has artist spaces and a Saturday farmer's market. We're a short walk to trendy Geary Avenue, which has superb restaurants and The Blood Brothers' craft brewery. Being downtown, we're very (as in walk or bike) close to Koreatown, Casa Loma, Bloor Street, and St Clair Avenue. We have a couple of bicycles and they might be available for you. Or, we're surrounded by public bike share stations that you can use and drop off somewhere else. With a 5-minute walk to public transportation, you can visit Kensington Market, Little Italy, Chinatown, King Street West, Little Portugal, and Trinity Bellwoods. Guest access Check-in is after 3:00pm and checkout is before 11:00am. We can hold your luggage if you want to explore before check-n or after checkout. This is a self check-in listing, but we will ask when we can expect you so that we can welcome you home. Our doors are unlocked when we are around, so just ring the bell and walk in. The front and back door of the house have deadbolt locks that can be opened with a passcode. You will have a code that allows you to come and go as you please. We're often at home to chat, provide recommendations for your visit, or help with any issue. And of course, you are welcome to keep your own space. If you discover that you've forgotten something for your trip, please ask us! Shared space includes the fireplace-lit dining room, breakfast bar, and living room with a 65” TV. Ask us about our high-quality music streaming service, and about our collection of independent and foreign films! The shared back deck with a gas BBQ grill and seating area is located off the kitchen. You are welcome to store food or leftovers in the kitchen refrigerator. Even though Toronto has incredible restaurants, many within walking distance, if you want to grill on the BBQ, please let us know. We're happy to show you around and where the utensils and spices are. As we have wood floors and throw rugs, please leave your shoes in the front vestibule. During your stay Whether you prefer a quiet retreat or engaging local insights, we are here to make your stay memorable. We are often home to answer questions, make recommendations, help with any issues that may arise, or to just chat. Communication through the AirBnB platform is preferred to stay organized and be consistent. You will have both our phone numbers for any emergency that may arise while you or we are out. Other things to note This is a pet-free, smoke-free, mold-free house. That includes vaping. There may be other guests staying here at the same time. PARKING: We have room to park one car in our garage if it’s not already reserved. There is free parking on our street in the daytime until midnight. If you need to park on the street overnight, you may purchase a Toronto Temporary Parking Permit on the city website. Ask us! The permit will allow you to park overnight in our neighbourhood. Stairs It's nothing personal, but our home is not wheelchair accessible - there are too many stairs. All the bedrooms are on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Likewise, we're not equipped for babies or toddlers. We have no way to reliably block off all the stairs, and no power outlet covers. If you are bringing older children, please rent the extra bedroom(s) for them. If you can't find availability on your dates, please message us right away! We'll check our calendar. Toronto You will find everything within easy reach on foot. You will never be more than a few minutes walk away from shops, restaurants, parks, public transit stations and more. There are several great reasons to explore Toronto on foot. It is the best way to see everything! When visiting, you will probably want to see all the key sites, like the CN Tower, Casa Loma, Ripley’s Aquarium, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and the St. Lawrence Market to name but a few. There’s so much more to see in Toronto than just the popular tourist sites, and the best way to enjoy all of it is by walking from one site to the next, so you can see everything in-between! Enjoy a mix of urban and natural surroundings. Toronto definitely looks like a stereotypical city with tons of glass and concrete skyscrapers. But you will also be surprised to find a lot of nature and green spaces. The city has a stunning waterfront on Lake Ontario, with an extensive walkway and bike path that goes for miles. This is a great place to walk along the water, visit some of the city’s beaches, and even get a water taxi over to explore the Toronto Islands. The waterfront is also the best place to watch the sunrise and sunset. In addition to the waterfront, Toronto has tons of beautiful parks and green spaces. One of our favourite things to do in the city is to go for a coffee and walk in one of the parks. The parks are a great place to people watch, play sports, and socialize. Be sure to check out High Park on the west side of Toronto for 161 hectares of forest, walking trails, ponds, dog parks and even a community zoo. It's the place to go for the annual cherry blossoms, or the autumn colors.
