i LOVED this hotel so much and if your in kyoto it is a must! toni is such a lovely host giving us local recommendations,guiding the best routes to walk at and even just giving us information about japan as a whole and his english is amazing and communication was no problem at all.The home itself is so beautiful and so clean and well looked after and the shared amenities were so clean considering they were shared. As me and my daughter went out to town Toni set up our beds and ensured we had maximum comfort when we came back.Please i beg you if you come to kyoto you can’t miss out on this incredible place and host

Zeer goed verzorgd verblijf, heel netjes en mooi ingericht, traditioneel Japans. Erg leuk dat onze bedden de eerste dag werden opgemaakt. Gedeelde faciliteiten waren ook erg goed verzorgd en schoon. De eigenaren hebben ons heel hartelijk ontvangen en zijn geïnteresseerd in de gasten.

We had such a wonderful stay, it's a simple yet beautiful guesthouse, with everything you need and a few lovely surprises, including the cosy communal space and garden for relaxing after a long day exploring. We had everything we needed and Tony was an amazing host, all of his suggestions for activities, food and day trips ended up being the favourite elements of our trip and we met great people along the way!

Me and my brother had a wonderful stay in kokonoe machiya. Toni made us feel at home, give us many local recommendations and always welcoming and warm-hearted. The machiya is super cute, tidy and welm equipped. Love the atmosphere here, highly recommend.

A beautiful Ryokan, modern decoration but still a traditional feel. Toni was a brilliant host who made us feel at home straight away and had lots of very helpful recommendations. We would highly recommend for a few days in Kyoto.
