The location, the atmosphere, bedrooms, quality of the bedding, furnishings, hand stitched curtains, as an example. Reasonably priced delicious HOME COOKED dinner and breakfast. Nothing to dislike, and ideally situated to visit Winchester.

Lovely, welcoming place. Andrew the landlord did a brilliant job serving excellent food despite the chef being off unwell. His wife the landlady (apologies as didn't get her name) was very welcoming also. Jocean especially went out of her way being helpful and the very smiley Kit rounded of the great weekend we had staying here with all the wonderful staff. Great food. Would highly recommend even if you're not staying overnight. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable.

The Cricketer’s Inn is located in a very quiet, attractive village. Has adequate parking and is well appointed. Located a couple of miles from the main road out of / into Winchester down a country lane with little traffic and regular passing places. We arrived early to leave our cases, etc. before we made our way into Winchester for sightseeing. WE arrived early - about 3.45 – and the Inn was closed, opening again at 4pm. The young lady receptionist / bar person was lovely and showed us up to our room and made sure we had liquid refreshment once we had settled in and gave us details to how to get into the City. I have a heart problem and the narrow steep stairs were not easy for me to negotiate with my luggage. The room was functional (No. 3) and clean with all the necessary elements. Had a shower, bed, chair working surface and tea / coffee / chocolate making facilities. There was no wardrobe so suits, dresses, etc. had to remain in the cases. We found it ideal for our overnight stay. We ate in the restaurant in the evening (last orders 8pm.) and the food was good and competitively priced. The breakfast was also moderately priced, well cooked and set us up for the day. We would recommend for overnight stays, not sure if it would be as ideal for any longer.

We arrived late after a breakdown but the landlord was able to cook us a delicious dinner. The rooms were spotless and very comfrotable with lovely bedding and new bathrooms. Ourt only comment would be the stair area needs an update but otherwise it was a great stay. Thank you to all the staff and landlord and landlady for making two weary travellers very welcome
